Good light reading; I read it commuting back and forth on the train. Nice short chapters. The long chapter devoted to Tokyo and Japanese cooking is really fun -- nice fresh gaijin perspective on nihon bunka. Bourdain is relentless in trying to serve up a vibrant take on cooking. His "kitchen English" is really funny. After reading this book, you may decide you don’t want to eat out (in America at least) anymore.
