Maya　Angelouを知らなくてもすらすらと一気に読んでしまいます。オートバイオグラフィーでなくても立派な本ですが、本当にこの人は存在する、と思うと思わずAngelouのファンになってしまうような一冊です。デリケートな人間の感情は上手に鋭く表現されていて、真剣で時には切ない話であってもユーモアを忘れずに書かれているのが特長だと思います。感動しました。もっと作者の本や詞を読んでみたいです。
I hadn’t read any of Maya Angelou’s works before this book, but I got into it right from the first page and finished it in a flash. Her writing epitomizes many human emotions in a charming, moving, wonderful way. I am looking forward to reading her other books and poetry. This is an amazing story of Angelou’s life.
